PoetryScribe
Where meter meets machine
The only poetry analysis tool that works completely offline. PoetryScribe uses advanced algorithms to automatically scan verse with high accuracy - no internet required, no data sent anywhere. Your poetry stays yours.
Why PoetryScribe is Different
High-Accuracy Scansion
Our algorithms achieve remarkably accurate automatic scansion using the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary and phonetic rules. Most verses scan correctly on the first pass - and you can always refine the results.
100% Offline
PoetryScribe never sends your poetry anywhere. All analysis happens locally on your device. No cloud services, no API calls, no data collection. Works without internet after installation.
No Service Dependencies
Other tools rely on external services that can go offline, change pricing, or shut down. PoetryScribe will work forever - the software you download today will work exactly the same in 10 years.

How It Works
Paste or type your poem into PoetryScribe, and the app will analyze the syllabic structure of each line. Stressed syllables are marked with an acute accent (/), unstressed with a breve (u), and feet are separated by vertical bars.
The algorithm combines dictionary lookup with phonetic rules, giving you a starting point that you can refine. Because poetry is art, not science, every mark is editable - your interpretation is final.
